It is critical that health emergencies are handled quickly and efficiently.

The Nivitus Minutes Matter™ system provides a revolutionary method for the often-complicated medical history of our senior citizens to be accurately and quickly provided to responding emergency personnel.  When an entire senior living community has adopted Minutes Matter™, arriving EMS responders will have the confidence of knowing that pertinent and perhaps life-critical medical information about their patient can be obtained shortly after initial patient contact.

How does it work?

All residents of the senior living community will be provided a web-based account which has been tested and verified by senior citizens for ease of use. This account will allow the resident to enter material medical conditions, allergies, and medications.  In addition, they can upload insurance cards, treatment plans, MOLST/DNR forms, Living Wills and Medical power of attorney records.  As a reminder, they can elect to receive periodic notifications to review their information to ensure it is up-to-date and accurate.  


Each resident will receive both a QR sticker to be place either on their phone case or on any other prominent location which travels with them.   A magnet will also be provided for them to place on their refrigerator showing their name, birthdate and their unique QR code.  When EMS personnel are called upon to assist this resident, all the medics must do is locate one of the QR codes, scan the code, and the patient’s medical information will be immediately available.  


The initial screen displayed for the patient will be a summary page showing all critical medical conditions and medications the patient is current taking to treat the condition.   From this initial screen, the medic can quickly deduce for example that a patient has known A-Fib and is taking 5mg Warfarin qd.  Additional information about medical conditions, allergies and medications can be reviewed, if necessary, on subsequent pages in the app. 

What are the Benefits?

  • Patients can be assured that their medical history is correctly communicated to EMS whether they are verbally able to provide details or not 
  • Assessment of a patient can be shortened, and best overall care provided 
  • EMS will have information at their fingertips which may be difficult or time consuming to extract from the patient 
  • EMS will have up-to-date list of patient medications and dosing which for many senior citizens can be numerous.  (Integration with EMS charting software can eliminate errors and omissions in entering medications and could save the medic considerable time)  
  • When required, copies of patient medical treatment wishes can be easily accessed for verification. 
  • Faster assessment, and treatment will reduce call times and help ease the ever-increasing shortage of EMS services.
